The Visual Code Server stores Web Shortcuts, Files and any type of Text/Code.
The Text or Code that it stores can be any type of information(SQL, Passwords, Codes, Names, Addresses, Phone Numbers, E-Mails, or Notes).
The Visual Code Server works with or without Visual Basic.
You can click on the StatusBar to start a Search 'on the fly'!
You can double-click on the StatusBar to view your current Code Library's Properties (Size, Dates, Location).
You can 'DRAG' your Code, SQL, Text, etc. to any OLE enabled application.
You can 'DRAG Project files': Class, Module, and Form files from the Visual Code Server, into the VB Project window. COOL Huh!
You can double-click any file stored in the Visual Code Server to Open/Run the file or program.
You can choose to use the 'Default' Icons on the Category Tree, instead of the 'Custom' Icons that you can assign?(See Previous Tip) Just 'Turn Off' the "Display using Custom Icons" checkbox in the Properties window(on the File Menu).
The Visual Code Server can open more than one Code Library Database.
The Visual Code Server can 'Replicate' and 'Synchronize' your Code Library Databases.
You can use the Visual Code Server at home, work, and a client's site, then Synchronize your changes.
You can use the 'Copy To/From' window to easily and quickly copy your current Library to a transportable media(like a floppy or zip disk).
You can also use the 'Copy To/From to easily and quickly copy a Code Library from your transportable media, to your computer.
That the 'Copy To/From' window can use WinZip to zip, or un-zip automatically. You must already have WinZip installed on your computer.
Synchronizing your changes between Code Libraries merges and mirrors all of your changes to other Code Library Databases.
You can organize your Text/Code, Files, and Web Links into Categories using the Category Tree on the left side of the window.
The Visual Code Server uses Drag and Drop within itself, and other applications.
Drag and Drop! The Visual Code Server lets your 'Drag and Drop' Code/Text, Files, and Web Links 'To and From' the Visual Code Server.
Drag and Drop! You can Drag and Drop 'Web Links' from your desktop
With Internet Explorer 4.0+ or Windows 98, your can 'Drag and Drop' right from any 'Windows Menu'(Like your Favorites Menu), or 'directly from a Webpage' on the Internet!
Drag and Drop! You can Drag and Drop any 'Files' and store them in the Visual Code Server, then Drag them out of the Visual Code Server at a later time.
Storing Files in your Visual Code Server makes the Code Library Database size grow faster.
If you keep your Code Library Database smaller, you can take it with you on a floppy disk, to Synchronize with other Databases.
You can click on the Message area of the Status Bar to view your current Code Library's Location and Size.
You can customize the Icons on the Category Tree, just by dragging an Icon file to the Tree Branch.
With Visual Basic, you can run the Visual Code Server as an Add-In.
Using the Visual Code Server as a Visual Basic Add-In, you can start it by clicking it's Icon on the VB Toolbar, or selecting it from the VB Add-In Menu.
In Visual Basic, you can move the Code Libray Add-In Toolbar Button to a different location on your VB Toolbar, and the Visual Code Server will remember. You can even set it's 'Begin Group' property!
You can use the Visual Code Server with other applications, like Visual C++, MS Access, or any application that supports OLE Drag and Drop.
You can 'Right-Click' on the Visual Code Server window to get a 'Popup Window'.
Thanks for using the Visual Code Serve!
The End!
